Radamel Falcao García Zárate was born on February 10, 1986 in Santa Marta , Colombia . Performed most of the lower divisions in Millonarios from Bogotá, and in 2001 , at age 14, he debuted in the Colombian Primera B Fair Play Chia . In the same year he was recruited by River Plate of Argentina . His professional debut in the first division was in 2005 during the Clausura tournament hand then River Plate coach Leonardo Astrada , in a game that was defeated River Plate 1-2 Gimnasia ( LP) . Its consolidation was during the Apertura 2005 tournament where he converted 7 goals in 11 matches under the technical direction of " Mustard " Merlo to deposit the confidence he needed .
